Strike three and you are OUT -- it’s ‘D-Day’ for oddball couple Randy and Evi Quaid at Santa Barbara court today.

The husband and wife have twice failed to appear before a judge to be arraigned on felony charges in connection with a $10,000 unpaid hotel bill.

District Attorney Lee Carter managed to get an extension for them to appear today (Thursday) after he pleaded: “I’m not asking the courts to do this again, if they don’t show-up on Thursday, that’s it... they are on their own.”

A spokesperson at the DA’s office revealed that if the pair did not appear today then extradition proceedings could be brought against them and they could be brought back to Santa Barbara by force.

The Quaids face charges that they left the swanky five-star San Ysidro Ranch without paying for their stay in one of the resort’s exclusive cottages.

Although the couple has reportedly settled-up with the hotel they still face felony charges of burglary, defrauding an inn keeper and conspiracy.

A judge issued warrants when the case was brought forward by the Santa Barbara’s District Attorney’s Office and they were arrested in Marfa, Texas, on September 24, 2009, before being released after each posted $20,000.

The Quaid’s former private detective Becky Altringer told Radar Online.com that she was not surprised that they had previously not turned up to court.

And she doesn’t believe they will be back today either despite the fact that the District Attorney’s office has warned them of the consequences.

“I don’t think they’re going to show – I’ll tell you what is going through Evi’s mind right now is that this is all a set-up, and the mob is going to kill her and Randy.

Last seen, Evi was haggling with a pharmacist about a script in the adjacent town of Alpine (to Marfa) while Randy sat in the car. This was yesterday afternoon. Hello extradition! Please keep them Cali! Puhleez!!!!
