Nouvelle Vague “3”
Posted on Oct 24, 2009 @ 09:44AM

French act Nouvelle Vague are best known for taking famous songs by other artists, mainly British bands from the ‘80s like Joy Division and The Cure, and covering them with their own new twist. And they often collaborate with the original singers making the covers all the more legitimate and intriguing. This time around the band covers “Master and Servant” with none other than Martin Gore of Depeche Mode, along with “Our Lips Are Sealed” with The Specials’ Terry Hall, and “All My Colours” with Echo & the Bunnymen’s Ian McCulloch. The group –which is made up of two women and two men and based in Paris—puts their breezy bossa nova lounge vibe on these classics, but what’s especially interesting is hearing them sung with French accents!
