On his latest effort, Julia Roberts’ ex-hubby offers up just four original tracks and seven covers. The theme is the Lone Star State, and so Lovett chose songs by his favorite Texan songwriters, including Townes Van Zandt, Don Sanders and Eric Taylor. Along with his famed “Large Band,” four-time Grammy winner Lovett puts his timelessly beautiful touch on the tunes.
