Nicole Richie and Joel Madden Thursday cut the ribbon at a ceremony for the Beyond Shelter Playground, which was dedicated by their charity, The Richie-Madden Foundation.

Richie, clad in a tan scarf, black shirt and blue jeans, looked svelte less than two months after giving birth; her and Madden have two children together, 21-month-old daughter Harlow, and infant son Sparrow, who was born Sept. 11.

"Just left Beyond Shelter," Richie Tweeted after the event. "It felt great to be back. The playground has happened thanx to all of you who helped! Pictures coming soon..."
