Robert Halderman, the man at the center of the David Letterman extortion scandal, has pretty high monthly outgoings, thanks to his child support obligations.

Halderman was required to pay his ex-wife Patty Monet $6,800 per month according to his divorce settlement agreement signed in 2004. The amount was later reduced to $5,966.66 per month.

The CBS producer also agreed to pay for the unreimbursed medical bills for his two children and was also required to maintain life insurance.

Police sources say that Halderman's motivation for the alleged extortion was money.

Useless pieces of sh*t can agree to pay anything re: child sport (and often do...) but the problem is THEY NEVER ACTUALLY PAY IT. Have no probs. taking out 10 grand in cash adv. on their c cards tho.

ha! he's in deep poop now. Now that he's in jail. he will lose his job and his girlfriend won't sleep with him anymore..was it really worth it?

Let's hear another excuse. Saying "child support" makes it sound like the children's fault.
If it was not in line with his current income, he could have gone to court to get it adjusted. There must be more.
