The Manhattan DA's office held a press conference Friday regarding the David Letterman extortion case.
EXCLUSIVE DETAILS: The Woman At The Center Of The Letterman Extortion Plot
During the press conference they revealed the alleged extortionist, Robert Halderman, was arrested Thursday after attempting to deposit a phony $2 million check that Letterman's lawyers presented him with.
The DA's office said that three meetings were held between Halderman and Letterman's lawyers and that Letterman was not present for any of them.

Letterman's lawyer wore a wire and the last two meetings were caught on tape.
