Jon and Kate Gosselin are just like any other divorcing couple fighting over money. Except they're doing it on national television, bouncing back and forth between various network and cable shows while slinging accusations at each other.

The latest shot is being fired by Jon, who says that Kate's claim he took out $230,000 from a joint bank account is "a total fabrication" and he can prove it!

One thing both Jon and Kate seem to agree on - perhaps the only thing? - is that Kate has handled the money during the marriage. And Jon tells The Insider that during the past four years of filming Jon & Kate Plus 8, "we accrued $2,250,000."
(Ok, maybe they're not like any other divorcing couple.)

He goes on to say: "She says in the past week I took $230,000. I have withdrawn roughly $177,000 over the course of a year, which is less than 10 percent of what we made. That's like my paycheck."
Was he getting paid to stay married to Kate? Oh, wait, he means paycheck for the show!

He slams Kate, adding "She's hiding money. We have 11 bank accounts. That was just our joint account. She had a best-selling book. Where's that million dollars?"
Gosselin insists, "I didn't want these things to come public. I didn't want this to be embarrassing for her."

Jon says he withdrew only $22,000 last week but meanwhile his war with Kate has extended to the courtroom, where Kate's lawyers filed a motion today asking to hold Jon in contempt of court and demanding the money to be returned.

While the fight over money has turned into a huge public drama, MyFoxPhilly.com discovered that as of October 2008 the Gosselins had a $720,000 mortgage on their estate. The 10-year mortgage, if figured at a rate of six percent, would result in a monthly payment of $9,000.

as usual on Oct 26th Jon Gosselin was proven a liar and replaced $180,000.00 into the joint account. evidently the Judge didn't see it as Jon's salary. ROTFL

Kate is hiding money. Admitted she withdrew $100,000 so Jon wouldnt get it, to feed her kids? How much food are 8 kids eating? All I ever see them eat is grapes & crackers on paper plates.She then admitted that the lawyers made her put it back.

Eight Soldiers died yesterday, and here we're listening to a woman who has been blessed with many blessings, namely her children, and we are listening to her complain? This just seems small in comparison to all that is happening in the world.

For a woman who normally comes off as bold and a bit brassy it seems she tones it down when she appears on Talk Shows when she's trying to garner sympathy from the public whenever it serves her purpose.This is calculated and manipulative.

Find it hard to believe that he took $ out w/o her noticing immediately. Remember the coupon incident? Both have said that they have other accounts. What about the monies from her appearances and books etc. Enough for groceries & bills!

It's a bit hard to feel sorry for someone who has much more than alot of folks in these tough economic times. To bank on a show that you knew would not last forever and then buy a mil dollar home w/o careers to pay for it is just not smart.

Saw the Today show appearance and noticed that Kate's voice/demeanor was low and meek sounding compared to her usual outgoing personality.Seems she wanted people to feel sorry for her when telling their personal financial business.
