Jon Gosselin Preparing For Birthday Showdown

Jon Gosselin was spotted buying a birthday cake Wednesday at The Cupcake Café in New York City.

Jon’s twin daughters Cara and Mady turn nine on Thursday, and according to Jon he intends to spend the evening with them celebrating.

But that goes against wife Kate’s wishes who has asked Jon to just spend the hours of 4 - 6 alone with the kids, and then to take what would of been her time with the kids on Saturday and Sunday.

Kate explained in an email that she does not want to spend time with the kids and Jon together due to their strained relationship.

Earlier Wednesday Jon railed against Kate insisting that he would spend as much time as he wanted with the kids and would even stay over at the house if he chose, as it still belongs half to him.

He buys a birthday cake in New York to carry it to Pennsylvania just so he can make certain that the Paps see him doing it...every move he makes is contrived and manipulative not to mention passive aggressive!

He claims he only too $22,000.00 yet the court papers clearly show he took $200,000.00.

Jon must think we are all stupid. He claims Kate doesn't want him to see the children but her email does not say that This is what she has been up against all these years.

Just saw the Jay Leno Kate G. skit. Very funny - it was good to see that she can have a sense of humor even with all her stress. Good for her.

The skit was good, however she left the kids again!!! Guess she needs the money.

Jon is making the same mistake as a lot of newly divorced dads, acting like he needs the kids more than the kids need a dad! It's emotionally so unfair to the twins.

J&K will come together without a problem tonight. I think there is way to much speculation on them doing the wrong thing.

I think Kate is again being the grown up. After what Jon has said about Kate on National TV I do not blame her for not wanting to see Jon. There will be a fight when those two get together and Kate is trying to avoiding the fight.
