In the ever shrinking world of modeling, Ralph Lauren seems to be completely out of touch with the real world.

PHOTOS: Filippa Hamilton On The Runway

5-foot-10, 120 pound French model Filippa Hamilton has claimed that the iconic image conscious label has fired her for being overweight, but we’ve got photos of the beauty on the runway and we don’t think she’s fat.  Not even a bit!

"They fired me because they said I was overweight and I couldn't fit in their clothes  anymore," Hamilton, 23, told the NY Daily News. She has modeled for the American fashion label since 2002, and has appeared on numerous runways and even at the candy store re-opening of Ralph Lauren’s daughter’s candy store, Dylan’s Candy Bar in New York, and at every appearance we think she looks like a slender, healthy young woman.

Ralph Lauren Model Fired For Being Too Fat

Ralph Lauren Blue Label ran an ad in Japan which featured an image of her so photo shopped and skinny that she looks like she’s standing in front of a circus mirror.  "I was shocked to see that super skinny girl with my face; it's very sad, I think, that Ralph Lauren could do something like that," Hamilton said.

Hamilton, who had modeled for the designer since 2002, said in response: "I think they owe American women  an apology, a big apology; I'm very proud of what I look like, and I think a role model should look healthy. "

Tell us, do you think this model is too fat??

Even at 5'10" and 120 pounds, this woman is considered unhealthy by the BMI index standards.
If this fashion industry is so out of touch with reality, let it die. Other talented people will be glad to produce great clothes for the rest of us!

Why don't they? Because they don't have designers good enough to make clothing for the plus size woman that look good. Or they atttempt to and put them on skinny models to show them. Morons.

Get with it all designer labels, American women are not that thin. The average size is 14. You want to make money, cater to the average woman.

I personally think any woman who is over a size 2 should boycott Ralph Lauren and carry it on to all the other lables. What message are these morons sending out to teenage girls who look up to these models?
