VIDEO: Maksim Chmerkovskiy Mum On Fallout With Karina Smirnoff

Maksim Chmerkovskiy, the gorgeous Ukrainian dancer of Dancing With The Stars fame, kept mum Tuesday when asked about what happened between him and Karina Smirnoff to cause their breakup.

He mumbled something about being upset, and still wanting the wedding to happen, before giving his dance partner this season, Debi Mazar, a peck on the cheek and leaving.

Chmerkovskiy and Smirnoff announced their engagement after just three months of dating, aiming for a June 2010 wedding. Chmerkovskiy proposed to Smirnoff just before the clock struck midnight on New Year's Eve, only six months after she split with her ex dancing partner, Mario Lopez.

The couple will have to keep their smiley faces and dancing shoes on, together, for just a little while longer, as they are are scheduled to dance together at the Emmys in two weeks.
