Tila Tequila Opens Up About Shawne Merriman Incident: “I Am Allergic To Alcohol!”

Reality star Tila Tequila has gone public – on Twitter, of course – about her night with Shawne Merriman, the San Diego Chargers linebacker she accused of choking her and preventing her from leaving his home.

“I am only 93 pounds and 4 ft 11”” she Tweeted.

“I am allergic to alcohol.  It has been publicly known for years.  That is how I got the name Tila “Tequila” cuz the irony.  I can’t drink.,” was another message.

“I have just gotten back home safely to Los Angeles.  Thank you for all your love and prayers, and I appreciate everyone’s support.”

Tequila, best known for her former MTV series A Shot of Love with Tila Tequila and Merriman were seen at a San Diego, CA nightclub in the early hours of Sunday morning.  They then went to his home in nearby Poway.

As RadarOnline.com reported, the bisexual celeb called 911 at 3:45 AM and claimed Merriman was choking her and preventing her from leaving his house.  Cops came and arrested the gridiron star and took Tequila to a hospital where she was checked out and released.

Her Tweets had Tila attempting to get ahead of the curve on what Merriman’s defense would be.

It came in a statement he released to FoxSports.com, and said in part: "At the time I was concerned about her welfare given the intoxicated state she appeared to be in and I encouraged her to stay until safe transportation could be provided.  I look forward to clearing my name regarding these false accusations.”

He should not have put his hands on her..OR her on him. That goes BOTH ways. If he was trying to choke her, her neck would AT LEAST have been red or marked. Hospitals look you over. If she had marks, the Dr. & nurses would have seen them.

The liver can only do so much to process the alcohol, ALL of this causes intoxication.Some people have allergies to alcohol, but I doubt if she does. She F'ed up & she is using the "allergic" excuse. (cont'd)

Alcohol INCREASES inhibitory transmitters. any amount of alcohol will REDUCE your ability to function.
The liver tries to keep up by producing higher levels of certain enzymes to process the alcohol. (cont'd)

I AM ALLERGIC TO ALCOHOL. I DO NOT DRINK AT ALL BECAUSE OF IT, BUT I CAN REMEMBER WHAT WAS LIKE BEFORE I KNEW AND I BELIEVE HE WAS TRYING TO HELP HER BECAUSE SHE WOULD HAVE NEEDED IT.
