Twilight’s Robert Pattinson puts a protective arm around co-star and rumored love Kristen Stewart backstage at the MTV Video Music Awards Sunday night in New York with Taylor Lautner at their side.

The three young stars took a break from filming Eclipse, the third film in the Twilight saga, currently in production in Vancouver, British Columbia, to attend the star-studded music event.

New Moon extended trailer unveiled at the VMAs

Eclipse is slated to be released on June 30, 2010. New Moon, the second film in the Twilight series, will hit theaters this November.

I personally think in this instance that Kristen was holding him up - he was blatantly drunk!!!! lol Much love to Robert! Come home once in a while!
