Oprah Winfrey Takes To The Streets Of Chicago, Literally
Posted on Sep 08, 2009 @ 09:00AM

A kickoff ceremony for the 24th season of The Oprah Winfrey show will be taped Monday afternoon for later broadcast from a major street in the personality's home base of Chicago, closing down Michigan Avenue from the Chicago River to Ohio Street.
Black Eyed Peas, Criss Angel, Jennifer Hudson and James Taylor are all slated to tape segments which will appear in upcoming episodes of the top-rated talk show.
The taping comes at more than a slight inconvenience to locals, as 15 buses have been rerouted through the busy Windy City street from Sunday through 6 a.m. Wednesday. More irritated were tourists flocking to Chicago, only to see certain areas had been cordoned off.
The season premiere of The Oprah Winfrey Show airs Monday, September 14, featuring a revealing interview with Whitney Houston; check local listings for time.
