Celebrities at the NAACP Theater Awards in Los Angeles Monday night rallied to support embattled R&B singer Chris Brown.

"Chris Brown did not reinvent the wheel. This has been happening for ever and ever."  Everybody Hates Chris star Tasia Sherel told RadarOnline.com reporter Rachel Smith . "He's manned up. He's done his time."

The refreshingly vocal Sherel also said: "As long as he's paid his amends with Rihanna, who the hell are we to judge and that's what we're doing, and I'm sick of it."

Lost's Harold Perrineau found the perfect words of advice:  "I wish he and Rihanna the best and I hope they work through it and I hope they learn some stuff and move forward."

Actress Elise Neal told us: "You know what even though it took him forever. I really feel it's still something relevant, because it sends a certain message to young guys and young women that he is speaking out."

Chris Brown breaks his silence on Rihanna Wednesday night on CNN's Larry King Live.

What kind of black mother who has been abused by a black man would support her son abusing another black woman. Mrs. Brown you make me sick. When will black people start raising sons to become black men.

This is just another example of the slave mentality of black men. If slavery is in the mind it is in his spirit.

I am a black female who has been abused by black men all of my life. I am sick and tired of excuses being made for black men's bad behavior. Black men have no decency or respect for black women and I still see it everyday.

He didn't "man up". He hasn't "done his time". He beat the crap out of her and should be serving time in prison not on the side of a street picking up garbage. He says this was a one time incident. Not according to the court do****ents.

At least he's doing something; if Rihanna wanted him in prison he'd be doing time. But she didn't, so he isn't. He obviously is sorry because he's speaking out on an interview which the whole world can see, and he's answering any question given.
