Mackenzie Phillips' shocking revelation that she had sex with her famous father John Phillips got mixed reactions from stars walking the pink carpet Thursday night at the launch of Candy Ice Fine Jewelery at Beverly Hills' Prego boutique.
Lara Johnston, daughter of Doobie Brothers' singer Tom Johnston, told RadarOnline.com that she sympathizes with Mackenzie. "It's unfortunate. Everybody's got their own thing going on, I don't know what their family was like but it is very sad. I think it is possible to be a musician and keep a level head which is what my dad has always done, so I am very lucky."

But the evening's host Vivica A. Fox had an altogether different opinion telling RadarOnline.com that Mackenzie should have left some skeletons in her closet. "The fact that her father is not here to defend himself, I don't like it. I don't think that's fair."

She gave entirely too much information! Talk to a therapist, psychiatrist, a friend....some things are not for general public information. Disgusting story! I won't be buying the book!

I agree with Vivica A. Fox. McKenzie should have left some skeletons in her closet. This is not going to help her heal her pain. It will just make it worse.

This is not a good way to sell a book. And now she's de****ng her father what did she expect people would think of him after telling all that stuff? She's a waste case w/little credibility, sad

I think it's ridiculous that she told the world that she willingly slept with her father for 10 years! She's as bad as her father! What about John Voight? Angie keeps him away from her kids for a reason. Her and her bro had major issues growing up!
