EXCLUSIVE: Katherine Heigl Adopting Baby This Week

Katherine Heigl is adopting a baby this week, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively.
The Grey’s Anatomy star is becoming a mom to a baby girl, a source tell us.
Heigl’s rep officially confirmed to RadarOnline.com that the star is adopting.
Heigl and husband Josh Kelley have wanted a baby for a long time, the insider said, and the adoption process has been in the works for at least six months.
The baby is from Korea. Her full name is Nayleigh and her nickname will be Leigh, RadarOnline.com learned. The baby is approximately 10 months old.
“She is thrilled,” a source close to the situation told RadarOnline.com. “She and Josh are so happy.”
The idea of adoption is nothing new for the actress, as she told USA Today two years that it's something she's "always planned."
"I'm done with the whole idea of having my own children," Heigl said.
"[It] doesn't seem like any fun. I don't think it's necessary to go through all of that."

Heigl is on leave of absence from “Grey’s” and starts filming the big-screen feature Life As We Know It next week.

R celebrities 2 good for American babies?! I'm sick of celebrities giving all of r money to help other countries before our own. We have many U.S kids in this country that have no parents & need love & care, we should help r own before we help others

The USA Today quote makes it sound like she is totally against having her own kids. It came from the KNOCKED UP press conference when she was joking about the pain of childbirth. She was not in any way serious.

I 100% agree with NORMAL MOM.
How is adopting a child considered "selfish", if anything it is selfless.
More people should follow her lead and give a child a home who do not have one!

I'm a Foster Mom there are 500,000 children in the Foster care system, not one of these children is worth adopting Katherine? I'm sick of these movie stars, all they care about is their greedy selves!

How a couple decides to bring a child into their home is THEIR business. Talk about greed? You get paid to take in foster kids and it's temporary, people who adopt pay to bring a child into their home. it's a truely selfless loving decision.

Wow you people are mean! A married couple who can afford it are having a baby, they have made a decision to not feed their vanities by instead adopting a baby already born and given up a home. I think it's a great thing! Congrats to Katherine & Josh.

Plus she is adopting from Korea because that's where her sister is from, so that the connection and I think it's sweet and a nice sentiment.
