DJ AM's mother, Andrea Gross, filed papers with the LA County Superior Court Wednesday.

The documents show that DJ AM died without a will, and his mother is listed as his sole heir.

They also show assets of $3,900,000 and a debt of $2,900,000.

Gross requests to be appointed as special administrator of AM's estate so she can move ahead with the sale of his Los Angeles property, which he was in the process of selling before his death.

She also requests that she be granted authority to enter into settlement agreements regarding the litigation that AM was involved in following his plane crash last year.
