The subject turned to pregnancy weight gain on The View Monday, as the panel compared notes regarding their very pregnant colleague Elisabeth Hasselbeck.
Hasselbeck, a week away from giving birth, said she has gained about "20-something" pounds while full with child. Co-host Joy Behar estimated her pregnancy gain at about 26 pounds.
And then there was Whoopi, who didn't mince words: the actress said she gained 102 pounds while pregnant with daughter Alexandrea Martin.
Who knew those peanut butter-and-pickle cravings were so high in calories?

Pregnancy from centuries ago to today! It’s the very same event. Women get pregnant, gain weight, suffer hormone issues & spend 14 hours in labor to experience motherhood. “Every” woman has the right to discuss it.

I have to correct my statement to: We are NOW told NOT to eat like animals anymore for fear of diabetes and other issues.

Frankly, it annoys me a bit when old women compare their pregnancies to the ones of today. We are not told to eat like animals anymore for fear of diabetes and other issues. Whoppie's baby days are LONG behind her.
