From the I-Want-Publicity Department we bring you Kirsitie Alley and her claim, via Twitter, that she's replacing Paula Abdul on American Idol. Her Tweet:
I WANTED TO ANNOUNCE FIRST ON TWITTER...that I AM REPLACING PAULA ABDUL ON IDOL!!!!!!!!! THe network will kill me but THERE IT IS FOLKS!!
DEAD SERIOUS! I AM REPLACING PAULA ON IDOL..CAN'T WAIT TO F SIMON UP...BEEN WORKING ON IT FOR MONTHS!
Actually, we kinda think it's a good idea. She's got great comedic timing and a history of successfully replacing actresses on hit shows, which she acknowledged by Tweeting:
FIRST SHELLY LONG, NOW PAULA ABDUL...AM I ALWAYS SLOPPY SECONDS
Actually, when last heard from (before the Tweet) Kirstie was working on her own diet plan after her nationally publicized weight loss via Jenny Craig and subsequent tabloid-publicized gaining it all back.
Kirstie and Simon. Hmm...it could be fun. And somewhere in Hollywood Paula's new agent is explaining to anyone who will listen how his negotiating-through-the-media strategy was actually a really, really good idea.

i used to follow Kirstie tweets, but she tweets every 10 seconds its annoying. i had to delete her.

I use to love her but Scientology has turned her into a whack job. She should do "Dancing with the Xenu."

This is a good tactic to get fans to campaign for Paula. Kristie Alley would be the death to the show. Although I have to admit, I was such a fan of her "Fat Actress" show. It was so funny!

Love Kirstie, she'll be great. I can see Simon making fun of her weight, and Kirstie laughing and blowing him off.
