Just because she’s the star of a reality TV series that features her kids, don’t compare Denise Richards to Kate Gosselin.

The star of Denise Richards: It’s Complicated, told RadarOnline.com that she doesn’t know Kate and did not want to pass judgment but “whenever my kids are involved in shooting, there is a child advocate there to protect their interests.

“The safety and well-being of my girls always comes first when they’re involved in an episode.”

Denise has two girls, Sam, 5, and Lola, 4, by ex-husband Charlie Sheen, who last season was opposed to their involvement with their mom’s E! show but agreed this year to their limited involvement.

It’s Complicated’s new season premieres Sunday, June 7.
