Ailing actress Farrah Fawcett has checked into a Southern California hospital, RadarOnline.com has confirmed.

Fawcett, embroiled in a long struggle against anal cancer, was previously under a doctor's care in her Los Angeles home.  She's now checked into a medical center for closer attention.

News of her admittance comes just hours after the revelation that longtime partner Ryan O'Neal asked Fawcett to marry him--on her deathbed.

Telling Barbara Walters that his beloved is "fighting for her life," O'Neal said Fawcett promised the two would be wed.

It is unclear if O'Neal is at her bedside, but ET claims he is trying to arrange visitation with the couples imprisoned son, Redmond.
