Lindsay Lohan hinted that her relationship with gal pal Samantha Ronson has just hit a rough patch as she briefly spoke to paparazzi trailing her in Los Angeles.

Lohan, with sister Ali in tow, spent Tuesday dotting various SoCal spots (a jewelry store, a medical building, a pharmacy).  When asked her about the reported breakup with Samantha, Lohan responded: "You guys make it seem like it's so over."

When asked to follow up on that remark, Lohan -- aptly cast in 2004's Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen -- said: "No. People take breaks!"
