R. Kelly: Private Eye Problems

According to a claim filed in Jackson County (Missouri) Court, R. Kelly owes $250,000 to a private investigator they reportedly hired to get back some incriminating material.

In the lawsuit, Charles Freeman alleges he was hired in 2001 to recover tapes of Kelly who was on trial for 21 counts of child pornography. Kelly was acquitted last year.

According to the filing, Freeman was told last June that Kelly "is broke because of the trail. He will pay you as soon as he gets more money."

In addition to his fee, Freeman is demanding $300,000 in punitive damages.
