$8,675,309? The phone number has reached a bid of $434,744.44 at the time of this post.

Earlier today, RadarOnline.com told you about the eBay bidding for a phone number made famous by Tommy Tutone in the 1982 chart topper "867-5309/Jenny."

In case you were sitting on the sidelines, waiting to place your bid -- or are hoping to swoop in at the last possible second -- the offers are now up to $434,000 and climbing.

"It's more than '80s fanatics," the number's current owner, Spencer Potter said. "It's a lot of mid-size or larger corporations looking to get more brand awareness."

Again, we gotta remind you: that number is out there in many area codes. In fact, Philadelphia resident Jeffrey Steinberg, who holds the toll-free versions -- both 800 and 888 -- says those are worth more, probably in the millions. He's right: one offer, from a weight-loss company, was $1 million...and that was a couple of years ago.

Potter originally thought the number would sell for about $50,000.

And, again, buyer beware: Potter gets about 40 calls a day from fans who are curious about the number.
