If you didn't catch it when it was first on the air, you need to check out the DVD collection Tales from the Darkside.
Co-created by George A. Romero --the director of the original Night of the Living Dead -- the syndicated series from 1983 features an addictive mix of eerie atmosphere and camp, not to mention familiar stars in every episode including a very young Christian Slater and Justine Bateman.
Our favorite is the groundbreaking Mookie and Pookie in which a dying teen geek downloads his memory into a computer "data bank" which can actually interface with other computers. Pretty cutting edge for a quarter-century ago!
All 24 half-hour first season episodes are included the $39.99 set, which goes on sale February 10.
