Producer/director Tom O'Horgan, who created the great counterculture musical Hair in 1968, has died. He was 84 and suffered from Alzheimer's disease.
O'Horgan was the visionary who also brought the rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar to Broadway in 1972.
Hair won O'Horgan a Tony Award nomination for Best Direction of a Musical, and introduced such songs as 'Aquarius', 'Good Morning Starshine', 'Let the Sun Shine In', and 'Easy To Be Hard' into the American songbook.
