Insult-slinging TV chef Gordon Ramsay will be returning to Hell's Kitchen a little bit softer this season.

Season 5 of the cooking phenom show starts Jan 29 and Ramsay is said to treat contestants like a humans this go-around.

"You'll really see a nice side of Gordon this season," exec producer Arthur Smith told press.

Making up for a few missteps, are we?

And apparently, Chef even gets all teary eyed with a failed contestant!

"It's quite beautiful and emotional," Smith confesses.

Right. That's why people watch.
