Monk star Tony Shalhoub is gearing up to endure Hollywood's newest dieting fad, the 'Fat Flush,' in order to shed the pounds he's accumulated during the holidays.

The 55 year-old actor doesn't want to be too plump for upcoming awards shows. However, he's not looking forward to the regimen.

"You have to drink a lot of liquids and unsweetened cranberry juice and other awful things."

Aside from Monk, which has been on the air since 2002, Shalhoub has been the voice of Luigi in Cars, and appeared in Men in Black II, Galaxy Quest, and Primary Colors.
