Yes, China has announced its grand ol' plans to create a 'Broadway' in Beijing -- call it Times Square 2.

Complete down to the Playbill, the new $700 million theater district will take 5 years to build and ultimately consist of 32 theaters devoted to musical and stage productions á la Broadway's hit The Lion King.

China hopes this artistic investment will create "a Chinese Broadway base for composers, writers, performers and actors in training," a Chinese news agency reports.

Well, at least that's a type of bomb we know how to deal with.
