Paramount Pictures is getting set to film the novel Daemon by author Daniel Suarez. It's about a computer game designer who, before his death, writes a program that is designed to fight and destroy humankind. And, unable to be shut down, sets about doing just that.

(Psst...guys: don't read the 1966 D.F. Jones novel Colossus for help. When that supercomputer becomes sentient and decides to take over the world, we lose.)

A sequel called Freedom is being written.
