Al On Verge Of Being Senator Franken
Posted on Jan 05, 2009 @ 08:58AM
As RADAR has reported, Democrat Al Franken and Republican Norm Coleman have been locked in a 2 month-old battle for the Minnesota Senate race. And it now looks like Franken is finally the victor with a lead of 225 votes.
Coleman's only hope seems to be to win a pending court petition seeking to include hundreds of absentee ballots which were excluded.
However, the former SNL writer/performer seems certain of victory.
"We are confident since there are no ballots left to count the final margin will stand with Al Franken having won the election by 225 votes," said Marc Elias, Franken's attorney.
