Soulja Boy's Crank That (Soulja Boy) was a viral internet craze that pulled more than 40 million streams on YouTube. Inspired by that success, Interscope Records is going ahead with a web series inspired by the rap star.
The first episode of Soulja Boy Tell 'Em: The Animated Series will be timed to this week's release of Soulja Boy's second album.
Toward the end of January, 3 additional episodes of the web series will debut, using animation and live-action. The story follows a cartoon Soulja as he goes back to high school. Alfonso Ribiero (The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air) plays the live-action principal.
