Tyler Perry Wins In Court
Posted on Dec 10, 2008 @ 09:22AM
A federal judge ruled in favor of family favorite Tyler Perry on Tuesday.
The plaintiff, Donna West, claimed Perry stole ideas for Diary of a Mad Black Woman from her play Fantasy of a Black Woman.
Perry wrote and produced the 2005 film and starred as Madea in the romantic comedy.
Perry's screenplay was adapted from his 2001 play by the same name.
"I never stole anything from anybody - never," Perry said.
'Cause you know, Madea would never stand for that!
West's attorney has announced plans to seek a new trial.
