'Tis The Season For Conservatives

Arthur C. Brooks's latest book, Who Really Cares: The Surprising Truth About Compassionate Conservatism, is a new bestseller which makes a surprising claim: that conservatives give much more than liberals.

The Syracuse University professor says, "The surprise is that liberals are markedly less charitable than conservatives."

Backing Mr. Brooks is Don R. Willett, a justice of the state Supreme Court, who states, "The belief that liberals care more about the poor may scratch a partisan or ideological itch, but the facts are hostile witnesses."

Apparently, conservative-led households average 30% more donations to charity than the average liberal-led household (approx. $1,600 per year vs. $1,227).

Contrary to the liberal "bleeding heart" label, Mr. Brooks also claims conservatives volunteer more time and donate more blood.

They also apparently still have disposable income for books.
