Hardcore Python-Lovers have known for weeks: that, Monty Python has joined YouTube.
About to celebrate their 40th anniversary, the comedy team of Monty Python (whose show Spamalot is about to close on Broadway) shows their humor is eternal (and lucrative) on their new YouTube channel, featuring over 20 clips from their extensive catalog of TV, film, and interviews, as well as personal home video moments.
"It always surprises us when we get paid," said Python member Eric Idle.
The site had more than 4 million views in its first 2 weeks. And not all of that is co-founder John Cleese sitting there clicking.
Producer John Goldstone assures fans that more videos are "on the way," including quirky animations from director Terry Gilliam!
