Christie Hefner, who turned 56 last month, has announced that she will step down as the Chairman of Playboy Enterprises, Inc., on January 31, 2009. No permanent replacement has been named.
The publishing exec is the daughter of Playboy founder Hugh Hefner, and has been running the show for her PJ clad dad since 1982.
Ms. Hefner's mother is Mildred Williams, who her father divorced in 1959 after ten years or marriage.
The 82 year-old Hefner founded the magazine in 1953 with $8,000 he'd borrowed.
