His costars may have thought he was a prima donna, and mercury poisoning may have done him in, but the departure of Jeremy Piven from the Broadway revival of Speed-the-Plow has caused the box office to suffer poisoning of its own.

The grosses fell by a whopping one-third last week, with half the seats at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre going empty.

Understudy Jordan Lage has been filling in, alongside Raul Esparza and Elisabeth Moss. Norbert Leo Butz joins the cast on Tuesday.
