Lil Wayne Tops Grammy Noms

Lil Wayne, whose Tha Carter III was the top-selling album this year, snagged an impressive 8 Grammy nominations Wednesday night. That's the most for any artist going into the 51st annual Grammy Awards.
Other heavyweight contenders include Coldplay which nabbed 7 noms, Jay-Z, Ne-Yo and Kanye West who had 6 noms each, and 5-nom winners John Mayer, Alison Krauss, Radiohead, Robert Plant, and Jazmine Sullivan. Weighing in at 4 noms apiece were Danger Mouse, the Eagles, George Strait, Lupe Fiasco, Adele, and T.I.
As RADAR reported yesterday, this was the first time the Recording Academy announced the nominations during a primetime, televised event. The awards, in a whopping 110 categories, will be given on February 8.
The concert featured past Grammy winners performing songs that were inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.
