Gossip Girl Spin Off?

The CW has confirmed it's planning a spin-off of its hit Gossip Girl for next season.

That is, if the pieces fit.

"Nothing's really tangible yet, but we're talking about it," CW President Dawn Ostroff told the press. "If it's the right idea, we'd all embrace it and be enthusiastic.

"It's a very competitive night," Ostroff concluded.

Ostroff said the network is busy prepping shows should the Screen Actors Guild strike early next year.

Translation: reality shows and more animation.
