Charles Barkley could soon be starring in a court -- not on it -- after he was popped for driving while impaired last night near his home in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Police say the NBA great ran a stop sign at about 1:30 a.m.
Officers say they pulled Barkley over, took him to a nearby mobile command post, and administered a blood test after the 45 year old declined to submit to a breath test,.
Barkley was issued a citation for driving while impaired and released pending the results, which normally takes about a week.
If convicted Barkley could spend between one to 10 days in jail, lose his driving privileges for 90 days, and have to pay a fine of around $1,000.
Barkley recently announced that he would be a candidate for governor of his home state of Alabama in 2014.
