Not a surprise: the New York Giants have suspended Super Bowl superstar Plaxico Burress. Big deal, right? The guy accidentally shot himself in the right thigh this past weekend at a New York City nightclub. He wasn't about to do any receiving in the near future.

The team also fined him. And things could get worse. The 31 year-old has also been charged with illegal weapons possession, which means he can spend anywhere from 3 to 15 years in jail.

The team had previously suspended the player for a game after missing a team meeting. The league itself fined him $45,000 for bullying an official and tossing a ball into the stands.
