It's the groaner title of the week.
The surprise smash film Alvin and the Chipmunks is getting a sequel.
Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakuel will be directed by Betty Thomas (Doctor Doolittle) and will introduce the singing rodents' female rivals the Chipettes.
Returning as voice talents are Justin Long, Matthew Gray Gubler, and Jesse McCartney. It is not known whether Jason Lee or David Cross will be back as their song writer and crooked producer, respectively.
