Oscar has a new conductor for the 81st Academy Awards.
Super-hot composer Michael Giacchino (Star Trek) will be leading the Oscars Orchestra on February 22 in what will be the composer's first live telecast.
Giacchino hopes to instill some Hollywood nostalgia into the ceremony.
Known for his use of brass, Giacchino won an Emmy in 2005 for Outstanding Music Composition for a Series for Lost and received an Academy Award nomination for his Ratatouille score.
He also composed and conducted the score for the upcoming Star Trek movie.
