Introducing National Geographic... The Game?!
Posted on Nov 18, 2008 @ 09:37AM
It's a name synonymous with "anthropology" and "exotic places." Now, National Geographic will be known for another reason.
Videogames.
That's right: the bastion of pop-intellectual studies has created a division called National Geographic Games. Its first offering is Herod's Lost Tomb, which will be available for free for PC, Mac, and iPhone. Once you get a taste, you'll have to pony up regular videogame coin for National Geographic Panda and National Geographic Africa to play on Wii, PS3, and various handheld hardware.
The company hopes the games will spread knowledge. Just don't let the consumers of Grand Theft Auto hear that.
