Reports coming out of Mexico are beginning to suggest that while Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt went through the motions and have the photos to prove it, they may not be legally wed.

According to sources south of the border, the stars of The Hills - being American - would have had to undergo a lengthy process which includes a blood test from a local physician, as well as providing authorities with birth certificates.

There is no record of that having been done.

The couple's publicist, Rick Rhodes, had no information for the Associated Press. "I'm not privy to any of that information," he said, adding, "If there was a wedding, I wasn't invited."
