ER's Dead Doc Fails To Deliver Ratings

Despite receiving all kinds of publicity, the return of Anthony Edwards was only good enough to give ER a second-place finish last night.

Yes, Edwards' character Dr. Mark Green died many, many seasons ago. And no, he didn't appear as a ghost. (If you want to indulge in that kind of stupid story line tune in to Grey's Anatomy.)

Edwards appeared in a flashback that explains the tragic backstory to Angela Bassett's character.

But ER finished behind Eleventh Hour, a big surprise say industry-watchers.

This is ER's 15th and final season.
