In a frenzy to touch the hem of Robert Pattinson's cape, a crowd of roughly 3000 young teenagers lost control as it pushed to squeeze into the Stonestown Galleria in San Francisco.

The star of the upcoming vampire film Twilight was there to sign autographs, but the mob was ten times bigger than the event coordinators expected.

During the rush a number of people fell, one girl apparently had her nose broken, and another actually fainted.

And all for an actor starring in a movie no one has seen yet.
