Web Designers Say Future Is Social Networks, Google—And Definitely Not Blinking Magazine Covers

Last night, four premier Web design honchos got together on a panel with an ad man who has escaped from magazine publishing. This was at the fancy fashion school F.I.T., in New York City. The consensus of the room was that in the future we will all get our news from our friends and through the Google and that in no way can or should Web publications emulate the print publications to which they are attached. Even the revered Khoi Vinh, design director of nytimes.com, agrees!
