The People Who See Russia From Alaska

"No streets, no cars, no airstrip": It's Little Diomede, the one place in Alaska from which you can see Russia, which also happens to be Sarah Palin's claim to foreign policy fame. It does, however, have adorable little brown children. Also it looks like a tiny favela on a rock with really bad weather. They throw their trash in the ocean and the poverty rate is around 40 percent. There is actually no TV on the island so the Alaskans who can see Russia had no idea that Sarah Palin was even running for vice president. But that doesn't matter! It's not like I've been to that part of Long Island where you can see Connecticut.
