MAYOR, NOW AND FOREVER Michael Bloomberg

Yesterday, we noted, quite agog, that the stage was being set for Michael Bloomberg to defy term limits and get a third term as mayor. Here is what the story breaking the news said: Mega-rich cosmetics heir Ronald Lauder—"who virtually was single-handedly responsible for bringing term limits to the city in the 1990s—said he came to his decision in the last two to three days and had not held any talks with Bloomberg." Um, not at all true, it turns out!
